The Steering Committee provides governance for the Scheme and support to the Scheme Co-Ordinator. The Steering Committee is composed of European EQA providers, a representative of the ESHG Quality Committee as well as experts in EQA related fields. The initial term for Steering Committee members is four years.
The committee meets once a year and its remit includes
Agree the scope and remit of the Scheme; agreeing marking and performance criteria, reviewing and decide appeals, agreeing the EQA timetable for the coming year; appointing new assessors. ESHG Quality Committee
In 2008 the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) established a Genetics Services Quality Committee (QC) to improve the quality and provision of genetic services in Europe. The QC consists of the co-ordinators of CEQA, EMQN, ERNDIM and CF Network as well as representatives of ESHG, ECA and other related organisations.
